Final Competition Team Tryouts - July 9th

What’s Available?

o Age 5: Tap, Character Jazz and Hip Hop

o Ages 6-8: Tap, Traditional Lyrical, Jazz and Hip Hop

o Ages 9-18: Tap, Traditional Lyrical, Modern/Lyrical, Jazz and Hip Hop

What Time Do I Come?

o Ages 5-7:

· 3:00 PM-Tap

· 3:30 PM-Character Jazz/Traditional Lyrical

· 4:00 PM-Hip Hop

o Ages 8-10:

· 4:30 PM-Tap

· 5:00 PM-Jazz/Traditional Lyrical/ Contemporary

· 5:45 PM-Hip Hop

o Ages 11 & Up:

· 6:30 PM-Tap

· 7:00 PM-Hip Hop

· 7:30 PM-Jazz/Traditional Lyrical/ Contemporary

Then What?

o We will e-mail results to the address you provide at tryouts by Sunday July 11th, please do not contact the office regarding results. Priority registration for competitors begins Tuesday July 13^th during office hours.

What’s Required?

o 5 year olds-Must take a minimum of 2 hours

o Tap and Hip Hop- You must take a minimum of 3 hours of dance a week; we recommend at least one other class in your style if available.

o Jazz, Traditional Lyrical and Modern/Lyrical- You must take a ballet and a technique class OR 2 ballet classes (3 hours minimum)

**Solos, Duets and Trios do not count towards weekly dance hours**

**Being a competitor requires strong commitment, hard work, dedication, a passion for dance, and a drive for self improvement. Being a part of the DDC competition teams is an experience your child won’t forget and the friendships they develop are priceless**

Please Understand… We put together the competition teams based on who attends the tryouts. Please do not try out for every style we offer if you do not plan on being a part of every team. If you make a team, we expect you to participate. Classes are scheduled according to teacher’s availability, class conflict may occur; please notify us via e-mail and we will make an appointment to council you on an individual basis.

**If you are interested in trying out for our competition team and are not available on this day, please e-mail us and we will schedule an individual assessment time for your child. Please understand this is not the best option and should only be utilized if you are absolutely unable to make the July 9^th tryouts**

Come on out to the studio on Saturday, May 22nd for tryouts for the 2010-2011 Competition Team.

· 11:00 AM-Hip Hop

o Ages 6-8:

· 11:30 AM-Tap

· 12:00 PM-Jazz

· 12:30 PM-Traditional Lyrical

· 1:00 PM-Hip Hop

**Any 8 year olds interested in trying out for modern/lyrical may do so with the 9-12 year olds**

o Ages 9-12:

· 1:30 PM-Modern/Lyrical

· 2:15 PM-Jazz

· 3:00 PM-Hip Hop

· 3:45 PM-Tap

· 4:30 PM-Traditional Lyrical

o Ages 12& Up:

· 5:30 PM-Tap

· 6:00 PM-Hip Hop

· 6:30 PM-Traditional Lyrical, Modern/Lyrical and Jazz
